Lost plug this morning 38 1/2 weeks

1st baby lost mucus plug 1 week before due date but because of the doc doing a stretch and sweep. It didn't work even though I was 1cm dilated already. I was then induced at 40wks 1day due to size of baby.
2nd baby, lost plug naturally at 40wks 2days in the morning when I went for morning wee about 7am.i went into mild labour straight away although I didn't realise it at first. First noticed I was in labour at 9pm when I had the first strong contractions and then put 2 and 2 together! He was born 7am, 24hrs after losing plug.
The reason I probably lost my plug was because I was having mild contractions through the night and when I stood up out of bed and got on the loo, it came out.
Everyone is different and it can happen anywhere up to 2-3 weeks before birth, but then at nearly 39 weeks I'd say you're nearly there. Your body is getting ready and your cervix has obviously softened and you are probably 1-2cm dilated already.

I lost my plug Sunday morning, 38 weeks 2 days, and I am still not in labour, but do get severe Braxton hicks. my second child I lost my plug 2 weeks before delivery, and my third child, during labour, so it can happen any time, sorry about the bad news, I know how you must be feeling. I just want this bundle out now too.

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and I didn't loose my mucus plug. My mother told me that she never lost any mucus plugs and during both her pregnancies the water never broke (the nurse had to break the bags at the hospital).
I'm just waiting for anything to happen!! So bored with being pregnant!

I would make sure your ready to go to the hospital any time! losing your plug is one of the first sign that you'll go into labor anytime for some it can take a couple of weeks and some go into labor hours afterward. I lost mine over a four day period and hours after I lost the last of it my water broke.

I lost mine 2 1/2 weeks before my due date....and then I was 9 days overdue when I was induced!!!! I'm sure you are ready to get the show on the road, but don't use that as an indicator...just as the others said on here, everyone is different. Good luck!

With my first I lost my plug at about 35weeks and had him 1 day before 40 weeks. With my second, I lost my plug and had my daughter 40 minutes later. Everyone is different.

i lost mine about 2 hrs before i started full on labour but i was induced so everything for me happend really fast

yep mucous plug does't mean anything
my midwife said she just wishes ppl would forgot about it and quit even mentioning it
