Was interested on others thoughts - I think they should give it to a children's charity by the end of this year, given in Maddy's name. Or perhaps on the first anniversary of her disappearance?

I would say give it to a charity such as childline, or one that helps find people that have gone missing!

They have been quite stupid when it comes to that fund and followed bad advice.

Its all very well collecting money from people but not so that you can just sit on - look at whats happened to the Diana fund - it has become completed tainted because they could'nt decide what to do with it (asides from spend on 'admin' and 'expenses') and then people lost interest.

They rapidly collected people's money with no clear idea of what to do with it and now it is leaving them with a whiff of suspiscion.

If they want to maintain credibilty they should donate it immediately to charity and let that be the end of - so long as they hold onto it, spent or otherwise, people will always point the finger...

How about buying a second home in the UK now they've used the fund to pay off the mortgage on their current one?

Faith: The McConns have not "used up their own personal finances living in Portugal". It was all free to them - they didn't pay for their extended stay at the original apartment and the villa they moved into has been paid for by the Portugeuse authorities.

Edit: The troll has another new account: ihavenoname. Watch it disappear like all your others you sad child.

The fund was suppose to find Madeleine but I think no amount of money was ever going to bring her back so now I did the money should be donated to charities.

Without getting into the ins and out, it seems that the parents don't necessarily need this money themselves.

The most logical place for the money would be to support the families of other children who have gone missing, who don't have the same financial resources.

it should be given to the missing persons helpline in the UK.
think about this for a couple of Minuit's.
the maccanns leave their children alone and see nothing wrong with it,
they then expect the public to pay for their wrong doings,
they expect the public to look for the child, when they dont do this themselves.
team maccann have done nothing constructive in finding the child, only caused mass controversy.
the fund is to be used to find just one child.
so its very simple really, to see that that money should be in the hands of experts, not armatures, and used to find all missing children, not just one child.
all missing children should have an equal amount of help in finding them

Technically they do not have to do anything with it as it is a company not a charity ......

I expect they will keep hold of it for quite some time

I think they should donate some to ben needhams family as his family have funded their search unaided for all these years and the grandad remortaged his house to pay for the trips ..

One thing's for certain, they ain't going to find poor Maddy alive now so they should get their asses back to the UK and donate all the fund to help find other missing children.

Buy 1 million baloons and let them off in strategic points around the world lest we never forget how those poor parents have suffered.
