That's a very good question. They think they have a better chance defeating an African/American candidate than they do the political machine (Bill Clinton) that Hillary has behind her. They are very much aware of how politically smart Bill Clinton is and fear him. In my opinion, what they are overlooking is the fact that Hillary is right up there with him in smarts.

If they go against Obama, they feel as if they would win based on his lack of experience. If they go against Hillary, there are numerous ways to be elected...the same families in office for 20 years, her husbands track record, she's a women. I haven't heard them say they wanted Obama to win the Democratic nomination, but I have heard them say they wanted Hillary to win it.

Hillary is more like a Republican than Obama so some disgruntled Republicans might be willing to choose a rightwing Democrat over a weak Republican. There are also many women in the Republican party too so if Hillary runs the Republicans can't use the fact that she is a woman against her or else they'll loose votes from Republican females.
If they run against Obama the racism in the Republican party will give it strength.

Do not sell the republicans so short. They favor neither. Both of these candidates have no leadership skills. They both favor socialized types of Government. This is against the republican mandate. If there was only this choice and no Republican option, I would prefer Obama only because anything no Clinton is better than nothing. This country does not need another backslide to our defense of our country. Clinton's have proved that they lie under oath and cannot be trusted. at least with Obama, the man can learn and at least has a vision. But, again my choice is neither as long as I have a choice.

I am a republican, I'd rather go against Hillary. She's flat out radical 9I don't care what she's done as Senator, look at her histroy), and hated by enough people there's no way she could win.
Obama would have a great shot, and even though I don't believe in his politics, is a natural leader. I'd be far more threatened by him winning the Dem nomination.

Either would be easy to run against. One is inexperienced and surprisingly liberal. The other has high negatives and baggage galore.
Overall, I think you are backwards, though. We'd rather run against Hillary - it'd be an easier win (but a scarier future, should she be elected).

I am republican and I dont really want either of them...But if i had to choose i would definatly choose Obama, Not because she is female, but because Hillary is a stupid hooker, her ideas are so terrible, if you thought bush f'd up our nation, this would just make things worse! If you thought our foreign relations were bad now, What nation besides England would want to talk with that B*tch???

I don't think it matters much as neither of them have what it takes to run this country the way the majority of the people want it run. As for Hillery we don't want a liar, thief and a socialist that will increase our taxes and make this a truly socialistic country. Obama being a Muslim in these times does not help him politically.
