I wouldn't worry too much - I know its easier said than done though.

I wont repeat the doctors seen it all - done it all speil, you know that.

I was told once not to think that the doctor was looking at your 'boobs' as thats not how they see it. To them they may as well be looking at your finger.

If you think about it that way, Im not saying you'll be completely happy about it but wont feel quite as embarrassed.

Just let the doctor know that you are very nervous about this procedure. If he's really good he will do his best to make you feel at ease.

It is true that some women do prefer male doctors. My personal preference for gynecologic issues (unfortunately breast doesn't quite fall in to that category because it's a different part of the body than the other female organs) is a female doctor.

If you still feel uncomfortable about this doctor you can always call and ask to have the appt changed because you would prefer a female doctor.

Aww,I wouldnt allow this to embarass you too much although I get easily embarassed so I know the feeling. I would just relax and rather than seeing him as a 'male' just see him as a 'professional doctor' that is there to help you, he has seen everything before and he wont be embarassed as he has been trained to see these things on a daily basis. I find deep breathing helps me relax, before you go in concentrate on your breathing and when you see him, dont think of it as a him, good luck and all the best, you'll be fine xxx

Not to worry, as a doctor is a professional. And me too has my breast examination by a male doctor and indeed it did feel awkward. But try to look at it in a professional way and it should be alright.

a doctor is a doctor at the end of the day, they've seen it all before, he certinaly isn't going to be bothered, so why should you? and like you say, you've had a baby, this is a walk in the park compared to that. Having a baby, you don't care who sees your lady-hole as long as baby gets out!!

Anyways, it might be a totally gorgeous doctor!! LOL

Best of luck to you anyways. xxx
