The lads just need to get their acts right. It is just the third match and the rhythm has not quite set in for Tevez. Bringing in Anelka now is like going into panic mode. Watch what happens when Rooney and Ronaldo get back in the fray. They will get back to winning ways. I am not a Manu fan by the way. But I prefer them to Chelsea.

i'm really not sure Anelka is the answer, yeah a lot of things would be in favour we'd get him reasonably priced, he's experienced but when was the last time he got 20 in a season? he does go missing when he doesn't fancy a game or it's not going his way. I agree as far as Smith maybe wasn't the answer although his physical presence may have been useful yesterday. I do think selling Rossi was an error he's the nearest to Solskjaer and the 'fox in box' we have.

Question may be more can you afford Anelka? Add his wage bill to your already impressive array of weekly outgoings and I suspect the Glazers might start having a bit of a say...... Your main problem was that you sold both Rossi and Smith leaving you with only one fit (and vaguely injury prone) striker, a couple of inexperienced replacements and a whole load of attacking midfielders, none of whom are out and out strikers, until you got a) Tevez on loan (and this can't be helped by the fact that MILLIONS of true football fans are really rather hoping he falls flat on his **** at United after the blatant, albeit FA sanctioned, cheating that West Ham were involved in last season) and b) Saha and/ or Solskjar fit. You might have managed it better if the boy Ronaldo hadn't shown his true colours the other week. Gives it out for Portugal but can't take it back....

I don't think many teams could cope with the absence of 3 strikers and an attacking right winger......Especially when those players are:

Christiano Ronaldo
Louis Saha
Wayne Rooney
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer

Anelka is a great player but once our other players are back he will start sulking at his lack of chances.

Tammipup - I take it this season is your very first watching football? If you would care to look at Sir Alex Ferguson's previous record you may just change your ridiculous opinion.

If Tevez wasn't a great finisher, why did Sir Alex sign him? He has just hit that rough patch. We don't need new players. We're just missing Ronaldo and Rooney a bit. You wait and watch, our slaughtering campaign will start from September.

We're just having a bad time now. Injuries don't help that much. At least we all now know what Mourinho went through last season. It happens to the best of clubs.

Did you see how Arsenal skinned Liverpool twice last season? Which of the two reached the Champions League final in the end?

Did you see how dismally Real Madrid and AC Milan began? Where did those two end up?

4 - 5 games don't make a league and it's time people saw that. I'm sure Fergie will know what to do. He's not the kind of guy to sit back and wait for Rooney and Ronaldo without doing anything.

GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!

WELL IF SAHA WAS FIT everyhting ould be fine!he was scoring goals for fun for us last season at the start. so since hes out yes defo we need a good striker/goal scorer.but i personally dont fancy anelka..obviously its like a last minate thing and we're not going to spend that much,in that sense hes ok but fergie should have bought hunterlaar or someone instead of wasting money on anderson!
and people please stop sayin selling smith was a mistake.it bloody wasnt .he had enough chances but he couldnt do it.i doubt he would make a difference now

You need a target man. Someone who will get physical with defenders and ruffle a few feathers. None of your current strikers can do it. Even Anelka won't do that. Problem is there are not that many around and they will be expensive! I'm just glad that we have both Drogba and Pizarro!!

Yep, I agree. I think we need a targetman in the box to finish off the chances we're creating. Anelka is definitely a good option, and with Bolton doing so badly, seems ideal.

Just wished Ruud was still with us..

We need a good finisher and we need him now.I nearly pulled all my hair off my head when Tevez missed a clean shot in the first half(the one which Richards put away). But,I don't think we'll be spending anymore money this summer. We just have to hope Tevez does better next time.

I think once some of the injured players are fit again like Neville,Roon,Saha etc and when Ronaldo returns from his suspension. We will be on fire but we should never doubt Sir Alex.He always does something pure genius.
