The school menus are government regulated.
They serve balanced, nutritious meals based on nutritional guidelines.for adolescents.
These meals are served in appropriate portions based on those same guidelines.
So, let's not worry about the little HS girls, ok? It's covered.
And I would like to add: With the problems we're having with girls and anorexia and bullemia, and with the increase in teen-onset diabetes, dear, you may want to quit encouraging people whom you know nothing about to modify their diets. You're just propogating the problem.

I need to eat more when I have a Cross Country meet or a Lacrosse game. That's why my school has an a la carte selection. And if you go for the main meal, you can ask for less if you want. I do when it's spagetti because it's high in carbs and I don't want to take a lot of insulin. I think the portions are fine, who really cares about school lunch anyway? It's all bad. Besides, I won't be too happy, if I didn't eat enough and I pass out during a game or meet because I didn't have enough.

The portions of lunches at my school are somewhat small, so a girl will buy one and a guy will buy two or three. I used to eat school lunch, but I always got tired after lunch because of all the carbs and I gained some weight, too. Plus some of the food is really gross! So now I bring my own lunch so I don't have to eat the cafeteria food.

no. there are several reasons why i don't agree. that would cost the school both time and money. for a normal high school they get their food pre packaged, pre cooked and the school just nukes it. that would cause confusion in the food company. it's not the school's problem to decide what portions are appropriate for students. girls shouldn't feel like they have to eat all of the food and they should know better. and you shouldn't assume that girls are happier when they're slender. some girls like having a little fat on them to keep from looking like sticks. especially athletes. what schools should do is have diet and nutrition programs included in PE to tell students what foods are healthy, what vitamins do what, etc.

You are correct I know when I was in high school I just had a diet coke and some dexadrine for lunch it was very important for me to be slender for you big strong boys. I think it's wonderful that you choose to encourage eating disorders in high school girls maybe you could start selling them crack as a diet aid.

No, because all my guy friends steal everything off my plate anyway. But I don’t think there should be different sized portions. If the girl chooses to be healthier and eat less, she will. Most of the girls in my school don’t even eat anything, so it doesn’t matter anyway. Except its not healthy.

I completely agree and I also think schools should let the girls help prepare the meals and stay to clean up the cafeteria after all the men are done eating.

no. if a girl doesnt want to finish they wont feel like they need to own up to the boy. it would be lame if they had a boys meal and a girls meal or something at school because if a girl was hungrier then normal one day and they wanted a boys meal it would be like wow fatty or something on the lines

No way, It's a free country and girls can eat as much as they like to eat. It's their choice if they want to eat as much as the guys.
