The most they can get is the city and the address. It they can hack the database of the goverment, they can check the name of the address.

When you visit a website you are traced based on the ip address
Here is my website that shows you where you are : http://www.agnisharman.com/where_am_i.htm
But it is not possible to pinpoint which builing you live in or more details about you
Without permission from any law enforcements, any website can track only you city. And mostly these are used for online marketing purposes.

depends! but its hard and if so most programs use tunneling so it doesnt really give your exact city, like im in a city that is 50 miles form where my IP is showing so check yours to see if you have same, and dont worry as
most people on the web dont kow these things.
go to download.com and find a IP adress locator program and just try them out, you may find out alot more info on your IP address and others too!

If you wanna know some realistic facts hun your ip can be gotten from anywhere. they can trace you completley back to where you live at, i hate hackers but i know how they act about studying and yes once they get into your system they will try to look for your name even through operating system setup, they also make keyloggers that help them out you dont need to be a police officer to do all that. you just got to know what your doing.

Unlikely. They can only guesstimate your ISP's location, not where you live. Even then, the information returned could be miles away.
Just checked mine, it's 30 miles away.
Of course police & ISP themselves is different. ISP will have the record and police can request that record from ISP.

They can find out who your isp is and can usually get a pretty good Idea of where you are, usually within 50 or so miles
