I think this is quite normal & this is what happens when you detox (it can bring up a healing crisis, see article below for more details) as your body is releasing toxins, so the feelings come up so that they can be released too.. but I've heard it has to be done under a qualified nutirotioneist or sth similiar...
http://www.whatreallyworks.co.uk/start/articles.asp?article_ID=456
they also recommend the Master Cleanse Drink:
"Start each day with the so-called Master Cleanse Drink - which combines a cup of water, the juice of half an organic lemon, a pinch of cayenne pepper, and 2 tsp of honey, organic maple syrup or molasses over a gentle heat to serve warm."
PS>this is a great site for natural remedies, also type in detox in search & look through relevant results for more advice.

I have gone through this a few times, as I have learned, it is the quality of the things you put in the body, as well as the cleansing. I have changed my diet to more raw all natural foods, and at least distilled water. I suspect you are doing well in your process:
The Herxheimer Reaction - Feeling worse before feeling better
The Herxheimer Reaction is a short-term (from days to a few weeks) detoxification reaction in the body. As the body detoxifies, it is not uncommon to experience flu-like symptoms including headache, joint and muscle pain, body aches, sore throat, general malaise, sweating, chills, nausea or other symptoms.
This is a normal — and even healthy — reaction that indicates that parasites, fungus, viruses, bacteria or other pathogens are being effectively killed off. The biggest problem with the Herxheimer reaction is that people stop taking the supplement or medication that is causing the reaction, and thus discontinue the very treatment that is helping to make them better. Although the experience may not make you feel particularly good, the Herxheimer Reaction is actually a sign that healing is taking place.
Check out my site, I have my cleansing on there, it may help!

For an easy detox of your system, drink 1 gallon of water a day for 1 month, then resume to normal 64 oz./day. Also, eat plain oatmeal every day for breakfast. I make mine in the micro using plain rolled oats ($1.00). I just use the 1-2-3 method.....1 cup of dry oats, 2 cups water, 3 minutes in the microwave (some microwaves require more time depending on how thick you like your oatmeal). Use a larger bowl than what you think you need because the oatmeal will rise during cooking. Or you can try the water method with the no sugars diet. Eat only dark green leafy vegetables (that contain no or very low levels of natural sugar). Eat NONE OF THE FOLLOWING... sugar, fruit, juice, diet products, yeast products, breads, crackers, carbs of any kind, dairy products. ONLY DARK GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES!!! Take NO antibiotics and eat only organic eggs & meat. This will let the candida that may be in your system (Stomach, intestines, blood, etc.). DO THIS FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 WEEKS. It may seem like a long time, but worth it. The candida will have starved to death and your system will be energized!!! And it is cheap on the budget!

Well, to begin with, how many cups of caffeine-containing drinks did you use to drink? Coffee, tea, cola, chocolate?
Secondly, where did you read/learn about this "get-fit" regimen? Your post sounds like it's from someone who has been misinformed. No matter how much water you drink, it will not help you get rid of cellulite, because it is NOT due to "toxins" but to a slackening of the reticulum in the skin. Third point: be extremely careful with distilled water. I had a patient die because he basically overdosed on it. His diet was poor and he was ignorant about all the quacks out there promoting themselves and their products. For pete's sake, drink "regular" water - bottled water, if you'd like - but stay away from the distilled! You could also be causing your electrolytes to go out of whack - a potentially SERIOUS situation. The most common electrolytes include sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Too much or too little of these can create a nightmare. Distilled water contains no minerals, no electrolytes. If you were to observe red blood cells under a microscope, and if you added distilleld water to them, they would end up bursting!
If you were a heavy caffeine lover, don't cut yourself off from it abruptly. In fact, no change - no matter how beneficial in the end - should happen overnight. It's just not worth the stress it inflicts on your system.
Good luck!

It will be a combination of withdrawal and toin release. I wouldnt take water in the temperature extremes you mention, warm water would be better, if you add a tea spoon or cider vinegar and honey to your 2nd cup in the morning it will help. Water through the day should be at room temperature or body temperature. Water also should be drunk half an hour minimum before food and at least an hour afterwards, to allow your stomach to get the maximum nutrients out of your food and allow your gastric juices to break down the food better.
And as crap as you feel, its better off that you are getting these symptoms because if you werent the toxins would be doing their damage internally without you knowing about it.
Hope you feel better soon. Keep going.

It could be the effects of coming off caffiene, or it could be the approach of some other illness. Watch for fever which would not come with the withdrawal from caffiene. When you have finished the detoxification process, this may resolve.
By the way, many naturopathic practitioners feel that increased detoxification is obtained if distilled water is used, this removes contaminates in the spring and ground water sources.
Good Luck

I have read before that too much water can be just as bad for you as not drinking any at all. Please be careful not to over do it with the water. Also, make sure your body is getting all the other nutrients it needs throughout the day.
