4 angel fish
4 penguin tetras
1balloon Mollie
i Dalmatian Mollie
2 clown loach
2 bottom feeders
1 algae eater
8 platies
2 fire mouths
2 rainbow fish
i have a large tank and its been set up a year all my fish get on are all fully grown, and have no problems with them
stay away from any kind of barb they are aggressive,
mollies are brackish and can be hard to keep, platies ,tetras ,are good fish to keep dwarf gouramis are kind of hard to keep they get stressed easily and are prone to infections.
you could try clown loach they are Orange and black striped .
bottom feeder,
a couple of rainbow fish they are a silver gold colour but when happy there body glows a dark red

My dad owns a pet shop and gourami's (dwarf) are a great option, some can get aggressive and will pick on other fish so i would suggest keeping them with their own kind. At the shop we have them all in one tank and they seem to get on fine, but dont take my advice seriously cause i could be wrong

Gouramis are nice. You could also add some neon tetras, a few mollies,or platies and a corydoras catfish.I wouldn't get any "fin - nippers" though,as they will harass the gouramis. These would include barbs and bettas.A dwarf African frog always livens up a small tank as well.
