Jeffery Deaver, Dennis Lehane, David Morrell and Lee Child, in my opinion they are the best thriller writers in the business!! I am a avid reader in this genre and have read Coben, King, Koontz, F. Paul Wilson, Connelly, and many others but none can touch these authors I've listed! The Deaver book I've just finished reading now is "The Sleeping Doll"--a brand new release and has literally keeped me up at nights!! I'm quite sure you'll love his other thrillers as well, such as "The Bone Collector", "A Maiden's Grave", "The Coffin Dancer", "Praying For Rain", "Cold Moon", "The Twelveth Card", "The Vanished Man", "Devil's Tear Drop" et el. For Lehane, start with "A Drink Before War" (don't let the title fool you) then "Darkness Take My Hand", "Sacred", "Gone, Baby Gone", "Prayers For Rain", "Shutter Island" and "Mystic River." For Lee Child, you can start with his first and move forward, but it's Ok if you don't. Some personal favs are: "One Shot", "Trip Wire", "Hard Luck and Trouble"--a new release, "The Persuader"-my personal fav, "The Hard Way", but they are all page turners! Also, last but definately not least is David Morrell. All his books are good, but I especially enjoy his last two releases "Creepers" and "Scavenger" which are guaranteed page-turners. Enjoy, Greg

Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury....but it really depends on what you like n books...wether it be adventure, romance or mystery stories. This book is about the future society in America, deals with war, book burning, comformity, and technology.
Also try 1984, and Animal farm by George Orwell, deals with totalataranism, and freedom and really interesting.
Yellow Raft in Blue Water by Micheal Dorris I think....Is about three generations of indian women.....adolesance,maturity, and life in general, and some religion.
The house on Mango Street, I think Sandra Scisneros, not quite sure. A young girl growing up in a poor hispanic home, deals with rascisum, hardship and the hispanic culture.
A tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens....French Revolution, bloodshed, war and family, also secrets and love. betrayal. Takes palce in London and Paris, other parts of France.
Old Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway. the fish symbolizes his book, the sharks are the critics and the rest is very cool, but it drags on but by the end, your glad you read it.
Fast Food Nation, by Eric Shcolosser. It will give you a whole new view on our nations fast food, and corporations, also will stop you from eating beef for at least two days.
Odyssey by HOmer, its a classic...love it.
I am currently reading An American Childhood, by Anne Dillard, its really cool to see the world through a childs eyes, It makes me feel 5 yrs old again, I love it.

I agree with the first poster! Anything by Stephen King! Particularly The "Dark Tower" series (obviously, start at #1; The Gunslinger, but it's pretty short, so you'll be at # 2: The Drawing of the Three" in no time!).
: )
