Questions like that are why it's currently illegal to clone people in the US of A and many other countries. There are a lot of Moral, Ethical, Legal and Practical issues that need to be resolved before we open that particular can of worms.

If clones don't have souls, are they even human? Are they entitled to Human Rights? Can they be killed for organ transplants? Enslaved? Will cloned engineers and scientists become Corporate "Intellectual Property?" Are all members of a clone family different people or the same person under the Law? Will they have to share a Social Secuirty Number? What happens to Forensic Evidence when hundreds of people have identical DNA?

How does cloning affect Marriage? The Laws of Inheritence?

I'm reading a lot of answers saying that they don't have souls. That alone indicates to me that humankind isn't ready to deal with these issues yet. We don't need yet another group of people around whom it's "Okay" to hate and exploit.

Personally, I think every living thing has a soul. But I don't know for sure that I do, and I have no idea of how to prove in a court of law that someone else does.

Clones of humans, animals or anything else that is living has a soul. Just because clones are not natural doesn't mean they don't have a soul. They are not property. Like any living thing has a right to live. Souls are in every living thing. Cloned are not.

Let's assume that souls do exist for the sake of this discussion.

In this case, clones do have "souls" as they are not complete "carbon copies" of the original person in the emotional sense, only through genetic characteristics (as do biological twins/triplets/multiples share the same genes). They do not take on the exact personality of the original. The upbringing and overall environment would affect the worldview and emotional mindset of clones rather than it being "hardwired" by science. I would say life experience itself helps shape the "soul" of a person or clone.

If anybody has a soul, then why wouldn't clones have souls? Think of the situation as similar to identical twins, if that helps. They're still different, and equally human.

The clone could desire to have soul. even inspite of the undeniable fact that its creation may well be different, the a ineffective ringer for a guy or woman may well be yet yet another guy or woman which do have breath, physique, concepts etc. for this reason it quite is going to truly have a particular soul additionally. SOULS DONT EXIST! we are all simply a bunch or chemicals reacting together to suddenly spark what we call life. when you die the chemical reaction stop happening and the compounds that make up your body return to their elemental states.

And if souls did exist, no, clones wouldnt have them. a clone with a soul, havent you watched TV before. "Evil Clone" it is how it is, TV is all knowing.

Definition:

Soul (sōl) n.

The animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity.

The spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death, and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state.

Thought:

Since the soul exists beyond death, its existence is in an immaterial form. As such it is possible that it existed even before conception.

However, the earliest possible time for its association with the physical being would be at conception.
