Sicilienne by Gabriel Faure... if you can manage to find a full orchestra version, it has beautiful harmonies and an overpowering violin part. I'm not sure if I would call it creepy, although it just might pass. It's lovely anyway, I played it with an Orchestra camp and I was blown away.

The first songs to come to mind are

Nocturne no. 20 Op. posth. by Chopin(the very epitome of an eerie, sad depressing violin song)
Adagio in G minor by Tomaso Albinoni
Claire de Lune by Debussy
Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor by Rachmaninoff
Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini by Rachmaninoff
"Winter" from the four seasons by Vivaldi

Another song I recommend is O Fortuna(the first movement) from Carmina Burana by Carlf Orff-VERY well known classical choral piece, often used in movies for dramatic battle scenes etc

If you like, I would be happy to send you mp3s of the songs listed above through email.

The Devil's Trill by Tartini in A minor (Baroque piece) This was supposedly composed by Tartini after he had a dream in which the devil was playing the violin to him. He attempted to notate the music when he awoke, but stated the music was no where near the quality of his dream.

Alban Berg's Violin concerto (20th Century Serialism) written in 1935 is also quite eerie and is composed in the twelve tone serial style. At one point there is a Bach chorale first performed in the style of Bach harmonization, then it becomes 12 tone harmony. It was written for Manon Gropius, the daughter of Walter Gopius and Alma Mahler (Gustav Mahler's wife) who had died and who Berg liked very much.

Can you be more specific?..

How 'bout Voltaire's Graveyard Picnic?.. It's about spending the day in the cemetary where Edgar Allen Poe is buried..

The soundtrack to Schindler's List. It's so good, but it's so sad.
