Cylinder Lawn Mower

NO, it will not ruin your mower. This mistake has been made hundreds of times and I doubt that one engine has been damaged or one carburetor has been gummed up. There just isn't enough oil in the gas to do any harm to a four stroke engine. It will just add a little upper cylinder lubrication which is not bad and will likely smoke the spark plug a little. People get confused because if you reverse the situation-put unmixed gas in a two cycle engine that requires mix you do have a problem.

This doesn't make much sense. Where did you put the 2 stroke oil? Did you put it in the crankcase or in the gas? Putting it in the crankcase would have nothing to do with it starting. If you put it in the gas it might. Either way it will have to be removed before you use the mower. Drain the oil from the crankcase. While it is empty, tip the mower and get the gas from the gas tank, as much as possible. Fill it back up with oil and put new gas in it.

I did that once on a small motorcycle. Unfortunately it did run until it finaly burned up. Luckily yours will not start at all so you might have avoided some serious damage. I would do what others have said. Drain it all and clean it up. Then add the right combonation og gas and oil. You might get lucky.

Two cycle oil is only for oil mix motors - do not use in 4 cycle motors- it dosnt have the lubrication properties of normal oil. If it still turns over ( meaning if it didnt seize up on you), drain out the oil and put in correct SAE30 or 10w30/5w30 motor oil.

thats because u hvae the wrong oil in it.

there are 2 different types of engines. 2 stroke, 4 stroke.

4 stroke needs seperate oil and will mix the 2(oil and gas) on its own.

2 stroke needs you to premix the solution before using it. It wont do it on its own.
