Yes they do. They help relieve stress and anxiety, give unconditional love and they always try to cheer you up whenever you're feeling blue. People can stress you out because of their backstabbing and complaining, but with a dog or a cat, you don't have that. They love you whatever the situation. Even studies show that those with pets are healthier than those without. People who care for dogs and cats have a tendency to relax more, forget about their worries and focus on something else. My cats and dogs, when I am stressed or when I cry, will come and lick the tears from my eyes. That's just so sweet!

pets are excellent for therapy. Most people have a postive reaction to pets. The exceptions are that some people are freaked out by the cats lack of expressing emotion in a way that is easily readable to humans... the eyes tend to scare these people, also people that are obessive about cleanliness can at times feel that animals are dirty, and if someone is quiet, a barking dog would have a negative effect on them, so personality compatiblity with the pet comes into play. In general though... yes, pets are uncomplicated and give uncondiational love and in general pets correlate to a very positive upswing in peoples lives

Pets don't expect much of us, yet give beyond measure. With patience even the most stubborn dog can be housebroken. I own Chihuahuas who come from the worst circumstances possible but people do not know they were ever mistreated because they are so loved-and they love us in return.

Yes my cat can help me calm down if I am stress. It is the main reason I always keep a cat as a pet. Just the sound of the purring and petting them calms me down

Yes, actually.... Simply explaining things, having pets around vanishes stress (for example, just looking at aquariums) and the feeling of being alone...

Yes, as connecting with animals are never the same as connecting with humans... ^_^
Pets gives me great joy that I don't find anywhere else.
Having pets also makes me more concern for Mother Nature.

It depends.
I think for people with out of control pets, or that don't like pets much, it might just cause more stress.
If you like animals and want the repsonsibility,
then yes. They can be nice company to have around, hah !

My pets are a very positive influence in my life. I rescued all these dogs from neglect, abuse, and euthanasia, and they've rewarded me by being fantastic companions. They add a great deal of happiness to my life.

Yanno.. there is a lot. From my mom who spent her days calling me whore and fat slob whilst i became a youngster, to the male kinfolk who molested me, to the boyfriend who beat, raped and stalked me. via the time i became an grownup, all I had to do to strengthen my existence, and promise a extra suitable existence for my son, became to evoke each and daily and say, "under no circumstances back," and "I won't improve up and be my mom." And my existence is enormously rattling spectacular now! If no longer for the terrible, i does no longer understand the thank you to absolutely rejoice with the excellent issues maximum others take with no attention.
