Since I restored my computer to IE7 and installed some updates I am having problems. The Internet and all programs are slow coming up, if I get them at all. And of course I blame the tiny window that pops up all over the place. It has an arrow in the left side and an arrow in the right sde. They are not the cause for the complete problem. It will lock everything up for a few seconds and nothing happens. Then it turns loose and everything works ok. I complain about this all the time but nothing is being done about it.
Then I tried to get into mail and a note said go to Tahoo! Mail. I had a hard time getting into Yahoo! Mail so I went back to home page. After a while I tried mail again. Got the same message but this time I was allowed to reach mail the ordinary way in spite of the note. I certainly wish there is some way I could get rid of this tiny popup for good.
I appreciate what ever one can do to help eliminate this problem.
My heart felt thanks. Rene

Sounds like your computer is hijacked. First, open IE7's options menu. (Tools > Internet Options) And on the Connections Tab, the big box in the middle should be clear. If it isn't then you're computer is running by proxy (which means everything you input is being run through another computer first).

Then, go to Download.com and download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition (it's free and download.com is a great clean site for free programs) and AD-Aware 2007. Run the Virus Scanner first and remove all viruses, then run Ad-Aware and remove all spyware. Then restart your computer. Restart your computer and repeat until clean.

If this doesn't work and it still keep popping up, instead of closing any pop-up that comes up, copy and paste the error it usually says into a search engine like google. This will usually bring up a few sites on which hijacking virus it is and how to get rid of it.

Once your system is clean, open up your start menu and choose 'Run...', then type in 'msconfig' and hit enter. This brings up your computers startup configurations. Click the startup tab and remove any programs you don't need starting when your computer starts (note: you will still need a lot of them, but remove anything you don't need from an installed program). Then restart.

Hope this helps.

If you just upgrade your IE to version 7 and did the updates, you have to go into Internet Options and reset your browsing settings.

The 2 main areas are Security tab and Advanced tab. I cannot advise you how to set them up.

I do not know what you access over the Internet.

Saying that you can check your Active X settings and enable some of them. (Internet Options, Security, Internet, Custom settongs button -lower middle)

Read the description carefully, then make your decision.

As for the pop-up with the left and right arrow.

Is it a circle with a dot in the middle and 2 arrow heads pointing left and right?

If it is you have a mouse with a scroll wheel that can scroll left and right. If you press the whell too hard slightly to the left or right, this item will pop up on your screen. You can turn this off in your mouse settings found in Control Panel.

Good Luck.

sounds like you have maybe more than 1 problem,If it was myself I would stop all and reload to factory level 3 or 7 times, that cleand out all the trash and crumbs,id you have a recovery disc format the drive a few times, then once all is back run your normal updatea ,ETC and install your programs, that may very well fix everything good luck

Use this instead of lengthy one: Strings.Format( (long)Convert.ToString(77, 2) , "00000000") converts 77 into binary string i.e. 01001101
