man the women get the advantage in this one
for me it was when I had my wisdom teeth out for the first time and didn't take any painkillers. I heard that Manuka honey (a type from NZ) is really good as a wound salve.
So once the painkillers started to wear off I tried putting some honey directly onto my still bleeding hole 2 inches from my brain. I almost passed out from the pain and still remember it to this day. :P

The most acute pain was from childbirth- 22 hours of labor with no meds. The most chronic is from fused vertebrae in my neck that pinches the nerves down through my scapula into my arm and hand. It throbs normally and when really bad it is like liquid fire flowing from my neck to my fingers.
I suffer from arthritis in my joints because of a childhood disease but that is nothing in comparison to the neck thing! I hope your physical pain is something you can deal with.

I have Lupus and at one point, I was flaring really bad. I was in excruciating pain from head to toe.
I couldn't walk, or even stand up, I couldn't even lift a finger.
The pain killers the doctor gave me did not work at all.
I used to just lay there and cry, day and night. I couldn't sleep, or get comfortable. I felt like Joeb.
I was hating life.

I can honestly say I've never broken a bone ::knock on wood:: but I did step on a rusty nail once (all the way down on it) and my foot was THROBBING.... it was the most excruciatingly painful thing I can remember to this day.

That would be when I shattered my right knee cap, and tore the meniscus in half. Never show off when doing an inverted rappel!
