VISA REQUIREMENT: none
You are not required to have a minimum amount of cash with you. Just your return ticket or a ticket that leaves the country in any direction. This is from the Costa Rican Embassy in Washington.

LENGTH OF STAY: maximum of 90 days

All adults and children require the following documents to enter Costa Rica:

A passport valid for at least 30 days (expiration date has to be 30 days or more after arrival date). In the case of minors, if they do not have a passport, they should be included in the passport of one of the parents.

A pre-paid airline ticket to exit Costa Rica (either to return to your country or to go to another country)

You can have lots of fun in Costa Rica without spending too much cash. (Unless you have very high standards)

You dont need a certain amount of money to enter, but you will need $26 (US) to leave.

You also need a passport.

Of course, you will want to bring t-shirts, personal items, an umbrella, etc.

You don't need any money to get in but you need $27 American, cash (exit tax) to leave. There are no ATM's at the airport and they don't take checks or credit cards.
It's a great country, you'll love the people and the land/water. Temperature is always between 65 and 80F.

no, When, I went in March, I took life 3 or 4 hundred, carried in different places and your debit card, I paid for everything in advance Motels, airfare, etc, so all I had was spending money and food money, but you can charge food to your room or put it on your DC or visa either way make sure you take 20's, not hundred dollar bills because they give you change in calonas, and unless you really know your money exchange it could be a big problem, Make sure you have you birth certificate and your passport with you all the time, it's a really lovely place, but remember what mama told you about traveling in pairs, really good Idea, have fun!
