What i want to know is how you can hate so many people you don't even know just because of thier sexuality.
I'm sure Gays/Lesbians don't hate you because you are straight. How can you dedicate your lives to hating something you probally don't understand.
Love happens, whether it's Gay or Straight.
Being a Lesbian myself i have recieved alot of abuse from people i don't even know.
I don't understand why you feel the urge to try to bring people down all the time.
Please help me understand what you hate so much because i really don't understand it.

I am in no way saying that all Homophobic people are abusive and i am in no way saying i want people to accept what i am. I just don't understand why some people spend all their time on the LGBT question section just to post abuse.

It's tough to be in your shoes!! So many people do not understand the homosexual world. There has always been fear of the unknown so some of their anxiety comes from this. I imagine that many people have experienced feelings for someone of the same gender and have wondered about their own sexuality. This probably scares them too and makes them react violently towards homosexuals because they then remember a confusing situation. Finally a lot of people are just plain concrete thinkers: what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong and they can't think for themselves nor see any gray areas. So, if Mr. Minister says homosexuality is wrong and should be condemned, then that's what these people do. It's sometimes an unfair and unfortunate world we live in -- but that's life. Homosexuality has been in existence since the beginning of time and isn't going away. Try to educate people who are willing to try to understand and feel pity for the others...if you can. They are unfortunate in that they will never truly learn to think and experience life fully in their miserable and pitiful little worlds.
Best of luck to you!

Frankly, you're gonna always have people who hate us for who we are and even though I saw the comment that phobia is fear not hate-while this is true-their fear of the unknown turns to hate. There is no real basis to hate anyone. What I don't understand is if you don't like who we are, why are you here? Can't you go somewhere else where straights hang out and leave us alone? We don't go bother you. While we are on the subject, I along with many others don't go around stating that I'm gay unless I'm asked unlike you straights that exchange slop right in front of me. You kiss each other and do vile disgusting things in front of me, but this is ok because you're straight. I got news for you. That same tongue he just put in your mouth was the same one the prostitute had when he left you this evening. Some of you straights make ME sick.

Me, personally, have no problem with people who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgendered. I think that if that's what they want to do with their life, great for them! I think they should be happy doing what they want to do. I'm sorry for the abuse you have received.. it's just people are so idiotic about that stuff... You know my cousin is gay. When i found that out i was a little shocked, i admit, but now because of that (might not get it if you don't have any gay friends) we're closer than ever. I'm happy for you if you're gay, if anything, i want you to be gay because it makes you happy! I don't hate people because of what they like. People are so mean in this world and take it out on people for all the wrong reasons. Just keep your head up and be proud, because what maters is you're happy; and that's what you are.

Because it is easier for small minded people just to write things off when they hate it, their brains weren't created to see the bigger picture. And well they are just not on common ground with society today. As much hate that seems to be out there if you look just a little longer we have come along way...and alot more people are learning to accept what they dont know. Sometimes its just hard to see, we live in a time that is full of negativity and that right there makes everything harder to deal with. But yea...here I am going on and on...its late and I dont know if im making sense...so ill leave it at that...nite nite :)

I'm not homophobic (I used to but have now opened my eyes), but I believe that there are to reasons people are homophobic.
One is because they grew up w/ that programmed into their minds. They have had it told to them their whole lives through religion or whatever, like i was.
The other is because they are gay themselves and don't want to be ridiculed because of it. If they start to be outspoken against homosexuality, then they think that they will be the last person thought to be gay. This has been true for many Conservatives, Fundamentalists, and Republicans.

to start, i'm in no way shape or form homophobic, i have a good few gay and bisexual friends and i fully support them and how they wish to live.
anyway best reason i've seen? as someone that avidly studies psychology, i'd lean on Freud's defence mechanism "reaction formation"
Reaction formation takes place when a person takes the opposite approach consciously compared to what that person wants unconsciously. For example, someone may engage in violence against another race because, that person claims, the members of the race are inferior, when unconsciously it is that very person who feels inferior.
hope that helps you understand a little better.,
i guess you could sum it up in two ways 1) people fear what they don't understand and 2) people that have been taught something is wrong for their entire lives, will always believe that it is wrong and will reject it vehemently.
just how people are sometimes unfortunately.

just to be sure I understand you. Are you acknowledging that there are a minimum of two varieties of Christians: Homophobic and non-Homophobic? by using fact no longer all Christians are Homophobic. there's a 0.33 place. Christians who love all human beings yet haven't any difficulty repeating the Bible's instructions, which comprise the practise to no longer work together in gay acts. My question to you: Can a human be seen a gay individual in the event that they do no longer work together in gay acts?

I'll throw in my 2cents for the cause and say to any Christians that want to spout about the Bible saying homosexuality is wrong - the Bible also says that it is explicitly forbidden to wear a garment made of two different materials (Lev 19:19). You don't see them picketing clothing stores to spread the word of the sin do you?
Consider yourself a trailblazer. You're educating the world and standing up for your rights. Those who follow will have you to thank for what they have in the future as those who went before us won us, as women, the right to vote and to have an even footing in society. It's a beautiful thing in the end.

I think love is beautiful no matter who you find it with. I am a straight woman in my late 30s and If I see a couple weather it be a man and woman, 2 men or 2 women...i dont care and I am not grossed out. I can watch any combination of people show affection no matter sex, race or religion and be happy for them that they have found someone at that moment in time to share themselve with.

The term Homophobic I think is very much over used... It mean to be afraid... But I think in most cases people aren't afraid of Homosexuals. Instead, because of there upbringing and possibly religious beliefs they don't agree with it or just don't think it's right, just like murder isn't right.. And that's not the same as being scared of something.
