co-ed

Since this is in words and wordplay, I would have to say that both words are a bit lumpy, but separate seems to hop from consonant to consonant while coeducation seems to sag or slump down in the middle, then one has to climb/struggle back out. One has to slow or stop while saying coeducation while separate goes bouncing by, so I would say separate is best.
Is that what you had in mind?
