Throughout the day I suddenly don't get a internet connection although it tells me I am "currently connected" and that the connection is of good quality?

I'll get an error message that something is unplugged. Can't figure it out.

I have to constantly go downstairs and reboot my cable box and router.

Is there a reason for this problem or a solution?

Thanks!

I have also had this symptom. What is happening is that although your wireless network connection is functioning just fine (your computer is communicating with your wireless router), the internet connection isn't.

I actually have the "lights" to my wireless connection pop up in the system tray, so I can see whether or not things are being sent or received. But I haven't stopped there. In Network Connections, I have an "internet connection" set to pop up lights as well, so I can monitor whether the internet connection is working also.

It seems superfluous, but just because your internet connection may be down, that doesn't mean your wireless connection will be. So I guess a way is provided so that you can see that the problem is not your router, but is indeed an internet connection problem. I mean, you can still connect to your home network even if your internet connection is down, because you can see from the lights on your wireless connection that everything is working there.

I hope that makes sense to you.

Could be interference from other wireless devices such as cheap wireless phones, wirelsess alarms, universal remotes

re-inforced concrete between your computer and the wireless router

distance between your computer and the wireless router is
too far

Neighbour using your wireless signal - should be password protected. (most wireless router can support up to three connections but they slow down more and become unstable with each additional connection.)

Best method is wired.

Hope this helps

Good Luck.
