I'm not Christian, but I'll tell you what I think anyway:

I believe that the government has decided that they will make more money off of legal charges and arrests due to marijuana than they could make if it was legalized and regulated.

They are SADLY mistaken. Legalization would not only create more income in sale's tax, it would keep alot of damn fine people out of jail. If it was taxed like liquor and tobacco, marijuana would probably sell for about $40 a pack (if packaged like cigarettes).

And some of my christian friends are of the opinion that God made it, it's all natural, so it's a good thing.

Liquor and nicotine are processed and chemically enhanced and generally bad for you.

How is Marijuana as a drug less of a danger than alcohol or ciggarettes???

Personally (and tho' i don't see why you want a Christian opinion on this, I am a Christian), i believe all 3, alcohol, ciggs as well as marijuana are just as harmful & destructive to one's mind, body & soul.

Yup, its a social thing and if used in moderation not harmful...have heard it all but would like to inform you that too many families have been destroyed by this stuff being "used in moderation"...

i totally have no patience or time for people who use a substance to gain a high...

Theres much in life that can exhilarate us without destroying us...

I know what your saying, it's been said. Don't try and make it sound like it should be O.K. to use drugs because that's what your doing.
My daughter started this many years ago when she was a teen. I was naieve to it, it was my fault.
Skip forward to six years, she was into meth, started because she admittedly wanted a "bigger kick" she got it. The next time I saw her after she run away with her druggie boyfriend she was being led down the court room asile between two of the biggest deputy marshalls I have ever seen.

She went from a beautiful 115 pound blond to a skinny, nervous, disease ridden hair falling out meth head. She was lucky, I thought, she got off and in our custody, she was put into the court system and on a program. It took four years, my twenty thousand dollars in savings, it cleaned me out, I raised her kids, which I already had for four years, for another four years. Thier father had never seen them. After we were cleaned out of our savings, my major heart attack from stress, my wifes break down and finally we got her back clean, after ten long hard years and a move to another state so we could be close to the other kids for help.

Her husband got nine years and she's never seen him again, he's still on drugs, she worked two jobs and paid back the 23 thousand she got from the state for aide. Now she's remarried and the kids are almost adults.

Yes, we're Christians but, what the hell does this have to do with illegal drugs?

Start with pot, then what, don't you dare try and tell me it's O.K., all I can say it's lucky your not here telling me this, you'd get more then my opinion after what we were put through. All our savings gone, I had to work an extra eight years so I could retire, my health is shot, my wifes nerves are a mess. It started with pot, she admits that.

It is a medicinal drug and should be regulated like any other medicinal drug.
I am a Christian. What does that have to do with rational regulation of medicinal compounds?
It is the practice of delivery of prescribed medications that is the problem.
Do licensed pharmacies in California deliver prescribed doses of marijuana? No! because the pharmacists would lose their licenses.
The FDA needs to revisit this issue QUICKLY!

the big reason it is not legal is becuase it has been said that the goverment can not make no money off it. but it should be legal because we are wasting our jail space and tax money going after people who smoke weed. Ever since that move refeer madness came out, the general population has had a bad view on weed.

Marijuana was not a domestic product and tobacco (its direct competition was) it was an economical decision. But now that we know what we do about its medical values it should be a priority to see what we can gain by researching it. And of course smoking anything is bad. I recommend you vaporize.

Gateway Drug. It is a psychiactive compund, a hallucinogen. It can make you hallucinate. Can lead to Cocaine, LSD, PCP use. In itself is not that dangerous, legalizing it could become dangerous, look at Amstersdam, or Las Vegas.
