The cable bill is $130 per month (cable, internet, phone). It was the roommates responsibility to pay this and I paid the other bills. She did not pay this bill in two months so it is over $300 with late charges accrueing. The roommates name is on this bill, not mine! I don't feel as if it is my responsibility to pay her bills. Since she moved out, can I create a new account with the cable company? Will I have to pay her bill because it is the same address? Also I have the equipment here (cable box & internet box), can I reconnect using the past equipment? If I get a new account under my name, I will be able to get the introductory offer of only $99 per month, so I will also be saving money. Any advice on this would be extremely helpful!

if your name wasnt on the bill the cable company has no legal recourse against you. you can start a new account in your name for the same address and notify the cable company that your roommate no longer lives at that address .

If you want to be shady, you could just forward the bill, and enjoy free cable and Internet.

Personally, I would call up the cable company and set up a new account in my name, and not even mention the old equipment. It's your roommates responsibility to return all those items. I would send them to her ASAP or call her to pick them up. The only way I would return those, is on a "they where here when I moved in" white lie

Just contact the cable company and tell that situation without paying old bill and take new connection from them with your name. If cable company didn't accept that means switch over to
new cable company. You didn't have problem with that company why means the bill is not with your name.

seek for yet another roommate so as which you've some help with hire. paintings a while beyond regulation or get a 2nd pastime so as which you have greater funds for hire. while your hire is up, pass on campus. prepare for financial help, or take out loans for college so as that greater of what you're making pays hire.

Different cable companies have different policies, for cases like yours. You'll just have to call them and ask your questions.
