The Innocent suffer as often as the Guilty. Fate, not direct action, leads the innocent into positions where there must be punishment.

I will refrain from the usual response on Oedipus because there be children here. Most morals in Greek Mythology do tend to outline that being either innocent or guilty of something means nothing when it comes to suffering. It's how each uses the experience.
