who is better AC/DC or Black Sabbath?

Two completely different bands. AC/DC is the ultimate Rock Anthem Band, the sole essence of high powered electric guitar and simple blues oriented chords that catchier than a cold in an Alaskan winter. Black Sabbath is the true founder of Heavy Metal, defining a music genre of lengthy guitar solos, the creation of the power chord and the devil's third, poetry of war, politics, and mythical (sometimes devilish) worlds.
Both are very similar bands, but i would have to say in my personal opinion that AC/DC are better because they stayed true to their original roots, pay homage to rock and roll far more effectively than Black Sabbath has, and also, i find screaming and headbanging to Highway to Hell much more enjoyable than anxiously waiting for the one verse in War Pigs that i know.

Black Sabbath was the more heavy metal band to me. But they still experimented with other music. Their songs are more...diverse compared to each other.
On the other hand, AC/DC probably was the more well-known in terms of hits, but by the time they surfaced, heavy metal was already created. Some of their songs sound similar. You can still distinguish them, but Angus Young always seems to play a variation of a certain song's melody in another song.
I say Black Sabbath. But AC/DC is up at the top too.

AC/DC...classic band everyone can appreciate.
Do have to admit though Black Sabbath's Iron Man is kind of over-rated, but that's probably because I've seen too many truck commercials with that song.

Definitely Black Sabbath, imo, although I have always liked AC/DC also. Black Sabbaths album 'Paranoid' is classic, I love it.

My vote would go to AC/DC Back In Black In Itself is Like a greatest hits! so many great albums my vote goes to AC/DC

AC/DC is actually my favorite band, but I have to say that Sabbath is better simply because they INVENTED an entire genre.

better at darker proto-metal? sabbath...
better at hitting the charts? AC/DC...
better at being first by four years, and scaring the bejeezus out of parents in the late 60s? sabbath...
better at burning out? Bon Scott of AC/DC...
better at fading away? the shade that used to be OZZY...
better to most? AC/DC...
better to me? sabbath, the first 6 albums.
the drumming on some of that stuff is otherworldly..........................
