...but to also favor social welfare programs that benefit less fortunate?
Isn't it contradicting when Democrats say it's ok for women to have abortions when the mother knowingly can't provide for the child financially but is pro social programs, such as welfare, which gives the underprivileged access to entities which supplement low income families effectively giving them access to resources they wouldn't be able to provide on their own financially?
Simply stated, How can Dem's support both?

Ok, let's try this. A woman has an abortion because she can't financially provide for the child. Many(not all democrats) support pro-choice.
At the same time, many(not all democrats) support social programs such as welfare which help those in need(often financially)

Good question, Glen. For a democrat to be pro-choice vis a vis abortion doesn't seem at all contradictory to me. Remember that democrats and the left in general are all about control. They want to micromanage every aspect of our lives by legislating their Utopian vision. The goal is complete regimentation cradle to grave. Deciding who gets to even make it to the cradle is some pretty serious control. Re-read "Brave New World". Huxley spells it out quite clearly.
What leaves me shaking my head is how anyone, democrat or otherwise can be pro-choice on abortion and support prohibition. How do you reconcile that logic? You own your body or you don't.

My stance on being Pro-Choice only has to do with keeping my nose out of other people's business. I feel that nobody has a right to tell others what they can and cannot do to their bodies.
Welfare programs help people in need. That IS my business.
I don't understand how Republicans can be against abortion or stem-cell research but, at the same time, they have no problem with huge corporations making decisions that affect the health of the entire population....or poo-poo alternative fuel programs that will reduce pollution into the air that the people they claim to love so much have to breathe.

Money is not always the reason women have abortions. Some have them because their health is threatened by the pregnancy some have conceived while being raped. Some women conceive when acting irresponsibly with one night stands. So I ask why can't you support both when every situation is different? You republicans need to get off your high moral horse and quit judging people especially when you have no clue what people go through.

you really don't get it. Freedom is what Pro Choice is...Democrats are not wanting social protections and protections (welfare) for people so that we can grow millions of people...like they were herd animals. If you want welfare only so that the unwanted children can be raised by the state, you're nuts.

My being pro-choice has nothing to do with a woman's REASON for wanting an abortion. It's none of my business why a woman has an abortion.
A woman should be allowed to choose this for herself because she should have sole domain over the biological functions of her own body.
That has absolutely nothing to do with social programs. So the answer to your question is no, it isn't contradictory.

Mainly people are pro-choice because they don't feel the government should be able to control women's reproduction rights.
Social programs need to exist.
Are you ready for the millions of homeless single mothers and their children, military veterans, elderly, and mentally disturbed living on the streets and begging for scraps in the streets if we do away with social programs??
Excellent!

Please state PRO-CHOICE as in birthcontrol.
Pro-choice might be too open, and astrology.
Pro-Choice Nuke Weapon?
Pro-Choice Tax Increase?
its open ....
China is known as a Republic but is Communist, Even Russia. The look closer they call themselves Democratic elections in party members similar to US Congress elections.

No. I think you are an example of a 'good' democrat. Unfortunately - the democrat party has become hostile to independent thought. (Just look at how they treated Lieberman, for not opposing the Iraq war.) So, you might thing about changing to an independent, or even a republican. There are many republicans with different ideas - outside the norm of the party. Just look at Rudy.

Your question makes no sense. It's illogical. 1+1=3 or something.
Try rephrasing it so it makes sense.

Libtards are uneducated and lazy. They don't think. They suck infants' brains out with a vacuum because it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside. Killing infants gets a libtard about as high as when he hears that U.S. troops have died.
