What do people like you think will happen to the the Iraqi people if we leave. I try and understand that your young and didn't study real hard in school or you just didn't give a damn back then but, try and look up your history and see what happen in Viet Nam, Laos, Thailand, other countries we were in and left.
There was hell to pay for the people that committed themselves to Democracy and kept that thought when we left, they were either imprisoned or killed. Have you ever read "the Killing fields"
What was going on before we went in to Iraq, Afghanistan? what. Look up and see what Saddam was doing to the Kurds, the gassing, the killing, entire villages were completely wiped out.
You people that come on here and cry about what were doing there have forgotten the thousands found in mass graves, do you think they volunteered to be buried like that? why don't you all wake up and look at the facts, not someone to blame, or, look at Saddam and his cronies.

Excuse me, but you are forgetting the tiny little detail like he killed thousands of innocent people. Okay they may not have been your people or even any of mine, but it is still innocent lives that he took. He was a murderer and a nasty sick person, he deserved what he got. I do agree however, that Iraq has been worse since he was out of power and it is a pointless war now. But I can say that because I know what it is like out there as my 18 year old stepson has just returned from Basra and has seen more in his 6 month tour out there than most people will ever see in their life! In the 6 months he was there, he has watched fellow soldiers die, maimed for life and even had to clear up decomposed bodies of young children left in the street to be eaten by birds! Yes It is awful, pointless, and our wonderful kids and relatives are dying for no reason now, but please remember, none of the soldiers are forced to go out there. They all want to do it. If they didn't they would leave (and I know as several of my stepsons friends, left prior to being posted). They are brave brave men and are doing what they believe in for their countries!

how can you sit at home and ask stupid questions AND have no proper grammar and English usage? If you are trying to be all political, or try to put your thoughts out there, run SPELLCHECK first! Because of your ignorance in your spelling and grammar, people are less likely to understand you, and even care about what your thoughts are.
AND...
those soldiers and innocent lives being shed is for nothing but the United States greed, and the hate coming from all of the countries involved. Nobody is really to blame or has the better half of the blame about the current situation itself other than humans themselves. It's not about 9/11, its not about "freeing the Iraqi's" it's all about greed, money and power.

Why did New Zealand send troops to fight in World War 2 when Germany did not bomb New Zealand?
Yes Saddam did not bomb the UK or the USA but he bombed innocent people and the UK and other countries sent troops to fight for what is right morally to protect innocent lives, much like New Zealand sent troops to fight against the Nazi's in WW2 because we knew it was right to do so.

Saddam was a dictator who ruled with a regime of terror and death to those who were or appeared to oppose him or were as someone once put it, from the wrong family.
Like Hitler, he picked them off one by one having his generals (family members) murder people just because of their family name.
As he ordered the massacre, he is held accountable and IMHO received just punishment for his crimes against humanity.
Did he bomb us, well yes he did because he supported and funded the Jihaddies via a network of terrorists to further his cause and he invaded a country that kicked the whole war effort into being.
So.... His fault because he started something he couldn't finish.

He killed innocent people ..
He was a dictator ...
I am proud of our armed forces and as a wife of a serving soilder i can say even without Saddam it is a country verging on civil war with horrid loss of life ..
Your country needs stability in order for the people to be able to lead a life without violence .. fear . and corruption
