Well maybe it was originally a French story and the giant said,Fee fi foe fum, I smell the blood of an English homme.

I've wandered two things about that Folktale for a long time. First, why wasn't fun or fan used, and the other is, why is the villain a Giant in some tellings and an Ogre in others.
