I hate this voting system, because the votes go to maximum of first few answers and the best answer most of the time don't get the credit. I got the votes for my normal answer which don't deserve any point still I got 10, at that point I felt guilty.
I request all the askers to decide the best.

I put questions for voting when I feel that choosing one answer as the "best answer" will not do justice to the other answers. Most of the questions put up really don't have a "right"or "correct" answer, and the answers you get only serve to reflect the opinions and beliefs of those who answered. I therefore feel that it is a bit of an "injustice" if I choose an answer because it is parallel with my own line thought, although I do try to sift through the answers and find the one answer that has a kernel of truth in it. But when it proves to be impossible for me, I wash my hands just as Pilate did and let the people decide. But I do vote in my own questions.

Not at all.
I understand why you feel like this but you need to realise that choosing a best answer in Philosophy is almost impossible as each are correct for one reason or another.
The memory of ones life contains all your answers for you. So yours is always the best answer for you at that time. Use the other answers to truly understand yours.
I say to you that few will agree with me and even a smaller number will agree with both of us. So lets put it to the vote because those who have no need for a best answer are really interested in the questions ability to unlock their memory.
I recomend you only concern your self with haveing enough of Yahoo's points so when you desire to ask the questions that really burn in your soul you can.

Sometimes, if it's a question that's significant to me.
I don't bother answering questions with more than 20 answers, as my answer won't get read anyway. No problem, the question will be asked again - it always is.
But I'm more dissappointed when the asker chooses the "best answer" based on who agrees with their own predisposition, rather than the truly best answer.
They're just looking for personal validation, not information or opinion.

i feel quite dissapointed if my good answer is not chosen as best, but i've always depended on the asker to be very critical of choosing whether the answers are what they were really looking for, and if not, what is more near to their belief. but i'm also surprised to find 10 points for my answers that i feel are mediocre, or those that i thought i didn't quite constructed carefully or i haven't thoiught of coherently. i feel bad also for those that i haven't chosen as best because i forgot to pick one, although i know that they really got the point and essence of my question and they answered it real good. it doesn't matter to me if my answer is on the end list, even if i don't get the 10 points, i tried and i still got 2 points, which for me is good enough. =)

I marvel how askers are so confident in choosing just one answer as 'best' Especially when I see that a lot of people have made an effort with their answers & not answered flippantly. I am proposing to ask other ppl who have answered my question to tell me in 'comments' who they would have given Best Answer to ...not counting themselves ofcourse. That should be interesting...don't you all think ?
