I'm taking the PSAT next month. I was curious if I do really horrible on the Mathematics part, but do excellent on the Critical Reading and Writing section, will my score be really bad?? Math is one of my worst subjects, but I get all A's in English class and Writing. So I was wondering if it somehow evened up. Or would you recommend reading up on how the Math is on the test?

Thank you :]

well the PSAT doesn't count for anything it is just supposed to be practice for you and give you an idea of what range you will fall into when taking the real SAT's. You will probably find that with each year of the PSAT you will get a better higher score, since you acquire more skills (math especially), during high school. But definately when it comes time to take the SAT you might want to get a math tutor to help review for the math section of the test. Also, a lot of colleges don't look at your writing section at all and only want to see your reading and math scores- so if your math score is really bad that can have a big effect.
Just relax and remember that it's only the PSAT. Goodluck.

I did terrible on Math for all my PSAT's the other two sections can help your score, but they won't even things out.

Good luck and study...... besides it's only a PSAT...... doesn't really count for anything.

First of all, you need to fix your attitudes and expectations. If you expect to do badly, you will.

Next, you need to study for the test, and be confident about the things that you do learn.
