to convince you that in order to live a "happy go lucky" life YOU MUST serve their good or god in general?

It's alomost like saying I cannot control my life without the assistance of something that I really don't(neither do they) know exists.

Because these people have been brainwashed to believe all the crap their preachers tell them.

Well first off trust me that even us religious folks don't always life a "happy go lucky" life. But I guss that it goes into the way of faith. To have faith in something bigger than ourselves gives us a freedom of never ever being alone. To have faith that god is by your side throughout whatever you are going through both good or bad and it makes you want to try harder. .. I honestly have no proof that god exists but i do put all of my faith into beliveing that there is so much more than just us out there. It took me many years to actually have the faith that I do... but it is a great freedom, brings a depth of peace I have never before known. Maybe they say that because they are happier than when they didn't have faith so they want to share that feeling woth you?? good luck on your search :)

It's not a matter of living a "happy go lucky" life, it's about having a fantastic after life, and helping others have one too.

I am A Christian. Jesus never said that one of His would live a life of ease. So I would never tell someone that.

On the contrary, Jesus warned that a believer's life would be full of trouble because of their faith in Him.

People who say that Jesus wants to give them a "happy, go lucky life" are full of it and shouldn't be taken seriously.

God commands christians to help others see the light & tell them about the saviour.Jesus Christ.
Then if they don't listen,we cannot be held accountable for their soul.
He did not say to preach in their faces every day & annoy them to death though!
He commands us to speak the truth in love,& preach the word boldly, without hesitation. We are also to teach through example,by the way we live.
After a while,if they will not listen & accept, then we have to give them up as an infedel & lost forever.

They are people of fear. The fact that you can be happy without their old holy book scares them more. If they were truly faithful it would not bother them.
Also THEY cannot control their own lives, because the responsibility is too great. So they can't imagine anyone else being able to.

Well I don't preach to people, you can see my religion through my actions, I don't use words.

I've actually converted atheist, because of the fact I don't put down any religious person or non-religious person. I respect all and love all, no matter what you are, or what you do.

Funny, you are the one who is asking the question that I am answering. I really do not care if you choose not to believe just because I do.

Unlike you (as you have stated) some people care about other people. You could learn something from people who care about others!
