First, fast the fish for 2-3 days and then feed peas, lightly boiled or steamed, skins removed and mashed. If this is not effective, increase the temperature to 78-80 degrees F and add epsom salts 1/8th tsp per 5 gallons of water. If this is not effective, treat with an antibiotic such as Maracyn-2. Also, this can be genetic with the fish having a deformed swim bladder. If this is the case, there is nothing you can do and it will have to live with it as long as it may live.
