Hi, please need help urgently, I discover a tiny little mouse running around my apartment, I bought some of those sticky traps and caught him EWWWWWW!!! I thought everything was safe but now I see mice sh*t inside one of my cabinets and I'm so petrified to open it again, not sure if the sh*t is from the old mouse or my apartment has more... I asked the manager and she just comes up with stupid wood traps...I contacted a guy that will charge 75 to come and load 2 or 3 traps and 45 every 2 months for follow up... do you think I should ask my rent lady to cover part of the fee? at least the first visit... I can't get into my kitchen without panicking and I have a 6 yr old that has no clue or she will freak out... please somebody give me a speech to tell my rent lady to cover part of the fee for the pro guy to come and load traps...

Remember this. Mice are cute but they are filthy vermin. You can contract the Hunta virus from mouse droppings so be very careful when you clean up their mess. The powdery residue gets in the air and you inhale it and you can die. Look it up on the internet and you will get very mad. There are many more than you see and they come inside for many reasons but mostly to live better. EVERYTHING edible must be kept in your fridge or put in mouse proof containers and they will eat thru plastic. They love bird seed and dog/cat food. Put out poisen where your child can't get into it. . .or your neighbors pets. . .I put it under the top of my stove. Figure out how they are getting in and plug it. They often come from above-like up shrubs and trees and can run straight up a wall and just love attics. If you have an attic put the peanut butter and poisen balls up there. Check your dryer vent and see if they haven't eaten their way in there and then look for holes around your foundation and put out the dreaded glue traps. Buy tongs and dump the nasty things in your grocery store bags. You will have to be very vigilent to get rid of them but it can be done. Ask your landlady to treat the outside. She may or may not be helpful because they probably didn't come in until you were there and for some reason they like you. And don't buy the short tongs. . .get the long ones. . .the longer the better and designate them for the job at hand. It's nasty but it will be nastier if you don't get rid of them. And the plastic snappy traps work really well. If they stop working something has snapped loose and usually can be fixed. They are much better than wood ones and are excellent up against walls.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the wooden traps are the best to use. Unfortunately for all of us, we have to remove the mouse from the traps. OR throw the whole thing away with the mouse and buy new ones. They are not expensive.

OR get a cat. You will never have trouble again.

I like having pro's do the work for me too. If it were me, I'd pay for the service myself.

D-Con works great, but you have a young child. We don't want her putting this stuff in her mouth.

If you ever do use D-Con, they usually die in the walls or under the house. There is a terrible smell for about two to three days until they are completely decomposed.

Hang in there.

I live out in the country and have had mice. I personally think the wooden flip traps are better because the mouse dies fast. I usually use a shovel to scoop up the trap and the mouse and throw it away and take out the trash.

For poision, the "bar" type poision works best. It can be found in a hardware store or farming store. ( you may live in a city so not many farming stores around) It has something in it that petrifies the dead mouse so it doesn;t smell if it dies in your walls. ( I know that is REALLY GROSS, but better than live mice running around and pooping and peeing on everything) I had a mouse make a nest in a purse in my closet........ ( It was a nice favorite purse of mine...... )

your scared of a mouse? you are at least a thousand times its size. get some mouse traps, at least if you are going to trap the mouse at least get a trap that will humanly kill it. a glue trap is going to let it slowly starve to death becasue it cant get away, a wood trap is going to end its life instantly. keep rebaiting the traps (or if you cant stand to touch them, throw away and get more). dont use d-con as in addition to. mouse turds you will have a stinky dead mouse or several and they will stink for quite a while. plus with a curious child, why take the risk of them eating some of the pretty blue pellets.
cleaning...just take stuff out of your cupboard, put on some rubber gloves and start cleaing with a good spray cleanser and lots of paper towels. anyway the mouse is more scared of you than you are of it...so dont panick eveytime you go into your kitchen, thats just silly. i am more panicky of the red-faced grimace on my sons' faces followed by suspicious noises in their diapers than of a mouse. if anything else, just move somewhere else...but mice ARE everywhere, sometimes you just dont know they are there.

I've been there with the mice. Clean out your kitchen cupboards. Mouse poo is nasty stuff. Save yourself some money and use the traps the lady brought or get some more stickey ones. I think she is doing all she will do. You get used to takeing care of the mice. yeah,,right...

In my journey, mice and rats are greater effective then Guinea Pigs. Guinea Pigs tend to sniff even while their caged are wiped sparkling generally. A rat or mouse cage does not tend to sniff except you have not wiped sparkling it in a together as. Mice and rats are actually not in hassle-free terms air purifier yet that are smarter and greater lively. as long as you socialize the rat or mouse, it is your terrific pal. I as quickly as had a rat that replaced into fantastically intelligent. properly, he fell out the window sometime and that i stumbled on him on the door an afternoon later. What i'm attempting to assert is that in case you have been to chosen between those 3 animals, i could bypass with a rat, a mouse could are available in 2d, and that i on no account incredibly enjoyed Guinea Pigs. All you opt for for a rat is a advantageous length cage with issues to climb on and bite on. They love peanuts and mine love culmination. they don't look to be not hassle-free to preserve as long as they have a mattress, foodstuff, water, and love.

Go to the grocery store and get some D-Con mouse poison, place it where they are running to in the apartment. When they die, it smells, but they do indeed die.
