What I don't prefer about country music is I'm not country. I'm a city boy, and therefore don't really relate to songs about the country lifestyle.
Country bands seem to have additional "twangy" string instruments in the ensamble like fiddles or banjoes. This produces a sort of shrill whine in the music I've never quite grown used to.
I do enjoy some "western" performers like Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash, but they are a rare exception of great musical talents that often get lumped with the masses of modern country.

I don't like the modern country because it seems like everyone sounds the same. There is no variety. With the older country, you could tell who it was by the voice. Now you have to already know the song to know who's singing. I love rock, especially classic rock. Don't like much of the newer ones though, same problem, they all sound the same, especially the girls. One newer (well, newer than most of my music anyway) that I do like is Amy Winehouse, she has a great style.

I don't necessarily hate any genre of music, it's just that other genres, such as country, are genres that I don't prefer to listen to, and sometimes I have opinions against them. But in reality, I don't really hate anything. I don't really like listening to country, but I do like some Johnny Cash.

there are some good guitar playing in some country that I can appreciate, but the singing is terrible and the violin doesn't help either, besides how much I dislike the general sound of country I also hate how blindly patriotic and religious the lyrics can be

You....hate.....rock? If you mean modern rock, yeah. But...classic rock?
Anyway, I was raised around country music. It's all I ever heard from the cradle to around age 10. And I can't stand it now. Southern rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles, etc.) is fine, but not country.

I dont like old country the twangy type. The new stuff with good lyrics Tim Mcgraw, Taylor Swift is cute too. Faith Hill, Rascal Flats all the cross over stuff. IF they start with the "i was drunk, and took my dog, threw him in my pick up truck...." stuff I wont listen to it. Even the sad lyric songs are good.

Country isn't my favorite genre, I do like some.
I like some of the singers who have been around for awhile. George Strait, Alabama and Garth.

I'm not a country fan but I do like Rascal Flatts and Emerson drive. Rock still rule for me but a little country won't hurt.

The only one I reletively like is one I can't remember the name of. But the only thing I don't like it is the accents, the country accents are pretty annoying. That's pretty much it. I guess everyone's destined to have one genre of music that was like, made for them. I like rock, but I'm not sure why. It just seems to suit me I guess.
