Hey Montitude, i also gave u a thumb down.. not because u said Symonds is better. U said that SL is not a test team without Murali & almost nothing in ODIs. Just look at past records bro, SL has won many matches without Murali. I also agree that there was a time that everybody thought the whole team is totally depend on Murali. But they have proved that they can perform very well without Murali, by winning both tests & ODIs.
For the real question, i'd say Symonds is better than Dilshan eventhough Im a sri lankan. Coz Symonds is very aggresive & hard hitter than Dilshan, but in bowling both of them are head to head, i think. Again Dilshan is far ahead in fielding than Symonds.

Dilshan is far more valuable to Lion team than
fluky symonds to Australia.
srilanka need Dilshan but Australia can do with out him
( cheating)

Andrew Symonds no doubt. He can bat defensive or attacking. He can also bowl spin and medium-slow in pace. Plus he is a good fielder.
