Division 3 football is the lowest of all divisions. Basically, you do not get a scholarship; nor do you get room and board. Typically you get a work-study job to pay your way through school - and then get to play football without the benefits. What it boils down to is that your boyfriend wants to play college football so badly that he is willing to play without getting a scholarship.

Division 3 is nothing special. See there are 3 divisions in competitive college sports. You have division 1 which include colleges such as Ohio State, USC, Texas etc. Then you have Divison 2 witch are a little bit smaller then division 1. Both of these divisions offer scholorships for their sports only division doesn't. Division 3 college is basically the smallest college you can go to instead of a junior college.

In college there are several different sanctioning organizations for athletics. The major and best known one is the NCAA. In the NCAA there are varying levels of competition. In football Division 1-bowl is the highest followed by Division 1-tournament. With Division 2 & Division 3 following repsectivly. Hope this helps

Why didn't you just ask him?? I'd hate it if my girlfriend would be embarrased to ask a question like what is "Division 3 football?" Do you think every other girl in the world is familiar with Div. 3 football?

You will not make it, you just don't have the drive, or size. Sorry to tell you. Plus you seem to whine a lot. You keep complaining about being forced to horseback ride all the time. Football players don't keep whining on Y/A about what their parents did to them. They suck it up, and play. Plus your age is a factor, you have never played football, no coach is going to take you on their team, they want experience.

division III, is small schools that do not give athletic scholorships. the athletes at these schools have to pay their own way .

Division I.>> the big schools of SEC, Big Ten, Pac 10, etc.

Division II> smaller colleges , but they do give scholorships
