Theorists have nothing to gain - or lose. It's those who fail to question the word of their government, who never doubt the government's word, or who believe everything they're told without a modicum of skepticism who have everything to lose. As citizens of the U.S.A. we have a Constitutional right - and duty - to be cautious toward our government's leadership. We have a responsibility to search for the truth, especially since the media - the Fourth Estate - no longer takes its responsibilities seriously.
Should we ever be lackadaisical enough to sit back and believe the government's word verbatim, we will end up living under the totalitarian reign of a tyrannical and oppressive government that controls what we do, what we say, and what we think.
Consider all the times the U.S. government has lied to its citizens just in the past half-century:
a) The incidents in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 have never been satisfactorily explained, especially to those who were there and witnessed those events;
b) There is still speculation that FDR knew about the Pearl Harbor attacks in advance, but didn't try to stop it, knowing it would entangle the U.S. in World War II;
c) The Warren Commission sanitized a 'report' on the JFK assassination, then sealed the documents for 75 years so that - in 2038 - most of us who witnessed the event won't be around to learn the truth;
d) Our government lied about U-2 spy planes flying over the U.S.S.R. until Khrushchev shot one down and displayed it for all the world to see;
e) Our government lied about U.S. battleships being 'attacked' in the Gulf of Tonkin, which entangled us in the Vietnam War;
f) Our government lied about the effects of Agent Orange on Vietnam veterans;
g) The White House lied about a third-rate burglary in the Watergate Hotel until two enterprising reporters dug out the truth, forcing a President to resign;
h) Our government lied about 'weapons of mass destruction', which led us into an unconstitutional, illegal, unjustified, immoral 'war' against another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States;
i) Our government lied about 'secret' CIA prisons;
j) Our government lied about the torture and sexual abuse of 'detainees' in direct violation of the rules of the Geneva Convention, to which the U.S. is a primary signatory.

Conspiracy theorists have every reason to dispute what our government tells us. So should every free-thinking American.

Adolph Hitler once said: "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."

Our total trust in our government and its leadership is naive and dangerous. If conspiracy theorists are wrong, all they lose is credibility. If gullible 'believers' are wrong, they stand to let us lose all of our precious, most cherished freedoms that our forefathers fought for so valiantly. We must not let their blood be shed in vain. -RKO- 08/19/07

First... a person would have to know what conspiracy you are talking about???

Second of all... if a conspiracy is not happening that would be wonderful.

Third... If nothing is really going on behind the scenes then we should completely trust our government.

Fourth... this means that we can also completely trust the politicians that are only thinking of our best interest.

Fifth...Then we should also completely trust corporations that have the peoples best entrust at heart.

So ..do you see anything wrong with this picture??
You would have to be completely out there to think that any of them had our best interest at heart. Its all become about money greed and power.
HA HA and some people think the conspiracy theorists are crazy.
They are just keeping an eye out for us. Someone has to!!!!

The knowledge that my children and grandchildren and live in a free world. Over my dead body will my children and grandchild live in an oppressive world because my generation was to stupid to see what was right in front of them.

You're an uninformed, propaganda-fueled, refuse to think for yourself, drone completely created by the controlled media. The reason, your government is always brought up is because you fit the PERFECT stereotype. The right-winged, conservative christian, anti-gay, anti-abortion, pro-death (penalty), pro-war persona. You're a hypocrite, you don't care about humanity, you only care about yourself and your views and your religion. You have absolutely no sympathy for anyone else, and you truly believe that God is an American. Do you think Jesus would've went to war? Why do you EXCUSE war-mongering and think that's just the way it is? A war-mongering president [Quote George Bush: "I'm a war president, I've got war on my mind!"] doesn't sound like a very God-like country to me. But I'll quote Bob Dylan and say "If God's on our side, then he'll stop the next war."

its not that we want to be correct. its just that we want everyone to AT LEAST look at the evidence BEFORE you make up your mind. i am a lifelong republican. it used to be that the most patriotic thing to do was go against the grain of the government. now, you are looked at as being unpatriotic. all i want is a new investigation. 9/11 divides this country like nothing in my lifetime. what is the harm in getting an honest investigation. bush put people in charge of the 9/11 commission report that was involved in whitewater. kissinger. there is not one conspiracy theorists that thinks they have it all down. we just have questions. legitimate questions that were ignored. the families of the 9/11 victims were the ones who went to washington and pushed for the investigation. we owe it to all of us what exactly happened because it might be you next, or me. they all died in vain if we never find out the truth. i ask you, please answer, why not a true investigation. the families themselves say only 30% of their questions were mentioned, much less addressed. if there is nothing to hide, then why not do an investigation. after all, it is the largest crime scene in american history. yet there is no evidence. my questions specifically. what was burning at 1500 degrees 6 weeks after the attacks at the bottom of the pile under each building that collapsed. buildings 1,2, and 7. there was moltened metal glowing red 6 weeks later. no where else but under those three buildings. another great question is why the power downs the weekend before 9/11. power downs that had never happened before. why was it never mentioned in mainstream media that bush's brother, marvin, was head of security at wtc. why were none of the 500something eyewitness accounts of bombs going off in lobby of wtc never mentioned in 9/11 commission report. lets just say for a moment, that 9/11 was an inside job. what do we have to gain by not investigating? there is a question. it does not hurt anybody to question the government at every turn. i don't trust them. do you?
the most important thing most americans don't understand is if 9/11 was an inside job, you have to understand our liberties are being taken away EXACTLY the same way hitler did nazi germany. where do you think we got the term "homeland' from. duh. if you look at the gestapo and look at patriot act, it will give you chills down your spine.
the next important thing is if americans don't wake up to our foreign policy that is creating hate against us. we will be in the war on terror that our gov't is creating. bin laden said in his 1996 fatwa that he declared war on us for occupying muslim lands. saudi is the most holy site for muslims. we have 8 huge military bases in saudi. 15 /19 hijackers were saudi. have you ever heard this mentioned in mainstream news? this is exactly what our cia says. our foreign policy has blowback. the blowback is the hatred towards us to the degree they will kill themselves to get the world's attention.

i personally would love to just have an intelligent conversation with someone that believes the US gov't story. no attacks just legit conversation. i personally don't see how anyone who has looked at the evidence i have looked at can not see things how i see it.

Interesting. I can only think that people don't like having their integrity impugned.

If you know full well that dawn follows night, wouldn't you feel like a chump if some newscaster told you that today, the sun didn't rise, that it was a figment of your imagination?

Or would you think that you were lucky to find out what you were supposed to think, in spite of the evidence of your own eyes?

Some people have enough self-respect that they don't appreciate being treated like fools. None of these people mind being wrong, just as long as they are given the respect of evidence, real investigation, and PROOF regarding the matter.

Otherwise, any and all theories should be floated, explored and promoted until the truth comes out.

I think conspiracy theorists are all part of one big conspiracy to take over the world. They just try to confuse us with all this talk.

At the best, the prescience to get out before it hits the fan.

As for me, as I believe it is for most people, it is simply a hobby and source of fascination to consider other viewpoints, and a mental exercise to question the official story always.
