i live in iowa, so id say im a pretty good source of info. we basically get both extremes in temperature. in the winter we can get alot of snow and it can get cold. in summer it can reach up to more than 100. but lately things seem to be getting less extreme. this summer was pretty cool compared to others, and the winter wasnt too cold. we get some pretty wicked storms though.

I don't know where you come from, so it is hard to make a comparison. Moreover, Iowa is a fairly large state, and there are areas that are warmer or colder than other areas in the state. Generally, Iowa has a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. You can check with the weather bureau to get real numbers for a given city.

I live in Iowa. We have all four very distinct seasons. It can get very cold in the winter, well below zero, and spike back up to 100 degrees in the summer. It snows in the winter, the worst usually hits in my area (eastern Iowa) from January-March.
