Hi, I'm a young man, 19 years old. I've been in sports since I was a kid. In high school I did various sports;golf, football and wrestling. Since then, I've had a lot of problems with my body. I have horrible chronic back pain. I can play video games but as soon as I stand up I can't stand straight for a while. When I run for a while, and stop I have to stretch my back so it feels better. And recently I was skateboarding, after 2 years of not doing the sport, my little brother got a skateboard and wanted to go to the skatepark. I went with, played around in the bowl and halfpipe, and even the funbox, but as soon as I did a simple ollie, still, I tweaked my hip. It hurts so much, i can't sit without it hurting, I have to sit it a akward position or my left hip will start to hurt. What did I do? Whats the cause of the problem. And how can i fix my lower back pain problem?

I hurt my hip several years ago & it sounds pretty similar. Probably a pinched nerve, but if it's something you experience all the time, you may have some things out of place.

Aleve always worked for me to kill that pain, so it may work for you. But you should also see a chiropractor. He should be able to tell right away exactly what is causing the pain and how to fix it. If it's an injury you've acquired over time, you may need to spend several months fixing it, but it'll be a lot better than if you continue to keep your body in an uncomfortable state which is likely to worsen as time goes on.

You need to see a doctor or a chiropractor (or possibly an acupunturist). If you don't get the hip pain gone and start sitting funny, you will mess up the rest of your body, which has to adjust to your sitting funny.

Yoga is a great suggestion, once you are feeling better. It will keep you limber. Also, don't hold one position too long (such as video games or being on the computer). Take a stretch every 10 minutes, and a walk every hour.

If you can, go to a doctor who knows about sports injuries. It may be a leftover from your sports career. Or, if you don't do any exercise right now, it might just be your body complaining about a lack of activity.

Good luck, and take care of your body -- you'll have to live with it for a long time!

probably pinched a nerve
right now you need physiotherapy and possibly a chiropractor
if you want to feel like you're young again, you'll have to put in quite a bit of work at the Yoga studio
i know it sounds scary, like maybe somebody would make fun because you do yoga, but if you can do it it will save you from suffering all your life
