Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990. The territory Iraq sought is shrouded in some mystery. Shortly before Sadaam invaded Kuwait a leading envoy, diplomat of his, talked to an important negotiator of the U.S., April Galspie. Because we smashed Iraq so badly with so, so few caualities, no one was interested in any kind of criticism of Papa Bush, and to my knowledge the information has not been released our pursued.

In closing, let me be clear about this:

1) Saddam Hussein was wrong to invade Kuwait, and he should have limited the invasion to a small amount of territory he did have some claim to.

2) Due to the strategic importance of the region, Pres. George H.W. Bush's reaction cannot be faulted.

3) Nevertheless, the United States made some kind of error in not making our position clear on the issue beforehand. A better response by us, could have possibly kept Iraq from making the invasion. I think the matter at least deserves looking at. But the Bushes believe they are the law. They don't need to answer to anybody; King George I and King George II.

I would have preferred Pat Buchanan in 1992 and support Ron Paul for 2008. They are REAL CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS in contrast to whatever "Mission Accomplished," Brownie your doing a great job with Katrina, and amnesty for all immigrants, Baby Bush.

It was an armed invasion by Iraq into the Emirate of Kuwait in late 1990. A UN Peace Enforcement Mission was formed and repelled those forces from Kuwait, under the authority of the UN Security Council. Now, go "google" Operation Desert Storm for more info.
