Who are "they"? If "they" are the police, then no, they can't. If "they" are your parents and you are a minor, then yes, they can. If "they" is a judge and you have been convicted of a crime, then yes, they can. Best thing is to use good judgement, and hang with the right people, and you won't have to worry about what "they" say. Peace...

If you have been convicted of a crime, part of your plea or rules of release (even prior to going to court) might be to stay away from bad influences or others that have been charged with criminal activity.
Sounds like it may be a good idea to stay away from these people anyway.

If you are on probation, then yes. You are not allowed to associate with known criminals, that includes gang members.
