buying land is usally easier than buying a house. There could be liens filed against the land as well as against homes. But everything else makes it easier with land, no termites, no home inspection, no water or electric has to e transfered, normally no hidden defects and and and .

Most of the time, yes. The actual house you just need the legal papers signed, but for land you need to purchase the land, then build something on it if you choose to do so, following the city guidlines. It's a tough process, so buying a house is usually easier than land.

Sorry, I have boughten bare land (acreages) and several houses in several states. Buying a house is more complicated due to needing to comply with so many regulations, from simple things like smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, lead-based paint, noxious weeds, and so much other stuff. My oldest son bought a house last October and the paperwork was more than 2" thick.
However, getting a loan is usually easier...

it depends on the size of the parcel.
If it is big enough to become a sub-division, it can be a hassle.
Otherwise, you still need to know its
zoning and taxes and comps.
Too far from society, it is almost useless--on the fringe, it can be
fantastic.
