1 day = 60*24 = 1440 minutes
3 days = 1440*3 = 4320 minutes
4320/20= 216 times the bacteria will split. Sorry, as for how many bacteria are there, you got to work it out some way or another.

3 generations x 72 hours = 216 generations.

If you have unlimited medium and container space, you'd have 2^216. That's roughly 10^64 (10 followed by 64 zeroes). You can't get that in the real world.

lol... this was the exact same question my 7th grade teacher asked for extra credit. You first would have to say 3 times an hour. 3 times an hour for 24 so 24x3=72 times in 1 day. 72x3=216 times in 3 days. So you would say 1x2=2.....times 2....times 2.... 216 times... In 7th grade.. i think i got roughly around 5.265x10^64.... which is... 52650000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000... just roughly.... lol good luck

An awful lot of them. If all live, you have 2^215 or about 10^65
