In football when a quarterback forward passes. what are the rules for a complete pass

Receiver must have control of the ball and maintain it either after making contact with the ground or after making a "football-related" move. He must have two feet inbounds or, if pushed out of bounds, would have been able to get two feet in if the defender had not made contact. Ball must be caught and not trapped.

Quarterback must also have been behind the line of scrimmage as the ball is thrown. It is not necessary that the ball be thrown overhand. If the receiver is behind the QB, it is a lateral and not a forward pass. Only one forward pass may be attempted.

The person reciveing has to catch it without dropping it. It's has to be caught out of the air and passed the line of scrimmage.
If the ball is dropped, it's an incomplete pass. and if it's behind the line of scrimmage then it's whats called a shovel pass but it really isnt a foreward pass

the reciever catches it while inbound
