Is it possible for Michael Vick to ever play in the NFL, or anywhere again? If you were NFL commissioner, what would you do?
Personally, I think Vick should be locked in a room with some of his dogs...oh, with bacon wrapped around his neck!

Vick's innocent: You need MUCH therapy...and a fair dose of reality.
Skrap: Thanks for a good, reasoned answer.

muddyriver: Actually...I DO think wife beaters should be at least suspended for several games. And if it happens more than once, it should be for a full season. If the NFL would take a harder line on the behavior of it's players, we would actually have more positive role models and fewer thugs.

Since he has pleaded guilty, it changes things now.
I do not know what the NFL will do, but if I were the commissioner I would let him play after he served his time. After that, he would have paid his debt to society and is entitled to have another chance in the NFL.
However, that being my ruling as a commissioner; I doubt very much any team (other than the raiders and cowboys) would take on such a controversial player as he would be unmarketable.

If I were the NFL commissioner I would do exactly as Goodell is doing. I would let Michael Vick stew in his own ***** right now, and refuse to give an answer regarding the punishment I would give Michael Vick in regard to the NFL IF he pleads guilty. Let Michael choose which route to take using his own decision making apparatus, which we all know is seriously flawed.
Once he pleads guilty, I would ban him for life. I would then call a press conference and make a statement to go out to all NFL players that if they think torturing, starving, abusing, electrocuting, shooting, hanging, drowning, fighting, and murdering dogs is acceptable there is no place for them in the NFL.

NO. I would suspend Vick for one season. Vick will do jail time. Probably a year and then he can play ball. I think after he pays his debt to society then he should have the right to play. But a team would have to be DESPERATE to sign Vick. He would be a publicity nightmare for that team if folks remember the cruelty of what he did. I can't see Vick playing ball in the NFL for the next 3 years or so. By then maybe the American public would have forgiven him.

No, Vick is not going to play another down in the NFL. He will go to jail for a couple of years if he pleads out. He will go to jail for many years if he doesn't. He lied straight-faced to the Commissioner. He will not get back in.

I wouldn't let him play. That gambling charge can get him banned for life, so they have the grounds they need. Yeah te bad PR part from him would suck but doesn't give the NFL the right to kick him out on its own, well it might but could turn into a mess trying to worry about that end.

Until he is found guilty, and I think he will be, the commissioner should stay out of it. The team owner, however, might want to keep Vick far away from the stadium in order to keep down the number of protesters.

His career is over with, he's looking at 1-2 years in prison, plus probably kicked out of the NFL. Hey like they say you play with fire you'll get burned. He knew what he was doing to begin with, I don't feel sorry for the guy.

He should be allowed to play if a team wants him. That's the way it should be.What are you going to say the next time one of the players smacks his wife. That they should be banned to.That's a slippery road to go down, and if they dont ban them then what you got an argument for dogs are more important than people.Maybe everybody who breaks the law should be banned from working.Sounds pretty selfrightous to me

Michael Vick has no chance of being raped or killed irvin, him being of high social status, he will be going to a low-security, resort prison(Club Fed) like Martha Stewart.
