Philosophizing arises out of two disparate states: the fear of being alone and the fear of being with others.

To philosophize is to go into one's head and begin pondering questions. Philosophy, in general, then goes about devising a way of thinking that allows for the continuation of thinking. Both of the originating states. Many thing to be alone. Many think to avoid being alone.

Where your questions will lead you is not to action, but rather to an internal state of dialogue or 'self-talk'. An almost endless conversation in the mind that may go on for a lifetime.

Adherents new to philosophy often find themselves their out of the unhappiness in life or the world. In philosophy, they hope to find some secret or magic that will alleviate suffering.

Philosophizing starts with the question 'Why?' You ask yourself questions, and then answer them and thoughtfully and honestly as possible. Where does it lead? That is difficult to say.

One good way to go about Philosophizing is to read conflicting view points; i.e. - Gandhi and MLK jr. (non-violence) vs. Malcolm X (any means necessary). Read both points, decide what issue (not who) had better merits, and allow any question or thought you might have yourself on the subject. Branch out from there.
