Per my Pharmacopoeia book which is what I use at work to look meds up. It is safe,
However, ask her her symptoms, does she have the flu or an infection? Does she have breast pain or redness, any breast lump that are warm to the touch? If so it's mastitis which can be serious.
Does she have abdominal pain or a foul discharge? If so could be a uterine infection. Does she have a fever?
If she shows signs or either of these call the DR on call ASAP, in our office mastitis can be treated over the phone with an antibiotic order call to the pharmacy (your doctor may want to see her though). A uterine infection could lead to a hospital stay.
Have her call her OBGYN first thing in the morning if you don't call tonight (call tonight) OBGYN's expect calls they knew it was part of the job when they went to school fo it

I would have her go to the doctor. After both of my children were born I had flu like symptoms (fever, chills, etc) and it was mastitis (a breast infection) that needed medical attention. Good Luck. And for future reference, ALWAYS ask a DOCTOR before taking medication when breastfeeding. They know what their talking about.
Congrats on the baby!

most meds are ok but some are not. plain tylenol and ibuprofen are safe.
now by flu do you mean stomach "flu" or the real flu like fever, chills, etc?
if she is feeling really feverish/achy/generally feeling like crap that soon after delivery it could be endometritis (uterus infection) or mastitis (breast infection).
she better call the doctor about her symptoms but in the meantime she can take some tylenol or ibuprofen.
