Oscars love worms and you can actually feed them worms you find in your lawn after a rain. Provided, of course, you don't fertilize your lawn with any chemicals.

If you collect a large quantity, you can freeze them for later feeding. Just cut off a chunk, thaw it in some tank water and drop the worms in the tank. You can also start a worm farm in your basement with some earth in a wooden box. I believe you can feed them bread soaked in milk and have live worms all winter long.

The small red worms and large earthworms sold for fishing are especially good for oscars and most larger aquarium fish. Be sure to put the worms in some water for a while to clean out the dirt and excrement in their bodies.
