because it's in our nature to be selfish. evolution created two paths for survival, group survival (socialists), and survival of the fittest (capitalist). each one with their own benefits and weaknesses.
Our society consist of both socialist and capitalist, and when you put the two of them together, you get this, a cess pool of corruption were heartless psychopaths thrive on the exploitation of the good natured socialist, and the greed of the capitalists.
Peace does not benefit their goals, survival of the species? what's that to them when the world exist to serve their needs and their needs alone.

The theory is lofty , but reality will not allow it to happen for the simple reason that every one wants it and no body wants to accept the other persons idea , and has to do with the human EGO each of us wants to be right , wants to have the satisfaction that our idea should be implemented and because there are so many ideas like people are that no one can come to a formal solution , and there is also the problem of history revenge and lingering hostility , too many people can not forgive and forget , they have to revenge their pains ...so there you are just be a good man in your family circle and concentrate in that and that is plenty ....

Think of it this way, you have two people that want something. One person is willing to push, the other isn't. Who do you think is going to get that thing?
As long as there are willing to be pushed, there will be people willing to push. Peace is a great idea, but it isn't a strong idea and its a very vague idea. Violence, however, isn't vague at all. For peace to succeed, It needs a large volume of people (Gandhi). For violence to succeed, you only need a small number of people (September 11, 2001).
It is a simple idea. To simple, actually. It's so simple, people think there must be something more to it. When more gets added to it, it's no longer the simple idea it needs to be.

Brilliant Idea! Also for people who have short tempers just grit your teeth and count to ten. Then the world can be peaceful and quiet place to live in.

We learned to speak different languages, to use different systems of weights and measures, different methods of banking, agriculture and dealing with climates, weather, geographic, and geologic environments. Our leaders chose different means of retention of their vested power. Our technologies were developed over different times, at different rates.
And individuals, well, we are individuals. We can be persuaded to think en masse, or to be selfish. So, when will 'the light of peace' be bright enough to enlighten, without being developed into a laser tracer for a weapon?

Or, you could accept the world as it is and stop experience discontentment, displeasure and dissatisfaction. The world is what it is. People are who they are. The ones who try to change it (the ones who do not experience peace) are the ones that suffer.
Smile politely and walk on by.

Do you ever get annoyed or lose your temper ? Have you ever been so angry that you wanted to hurt someone ? Human beings have a hard enough time getting along with those we love. And don't forget that it's the psychopaths who are drawn and rise to power.

That would require common sense. If everyone in the world had that we'd all be living in an anarchist society by now.

because people are only concerned with what effects them immediately. they pretend like they care about other issues, but as soon as an issue hits closer to home, we become self absorbed.
