I am still really confused on what I need to get a saltwater fish tank up and running. this is a list of what I think I need.
1) Powerheads
2) Filter
3) live rock
4) grounding probe
5) Skimmer
6) salt
7) hydrometer
8) Crushed coral
9) testing kit
10) underground filter

Is there anything else I need and can someone explain how a powerhead hooks up to a undergravel filter? also could you send me a link to a site selling undergravel filters and powerheads. one more thing, do i need an air stone?

~~THANKS~~

You'll want a thermometer and a heater. If you're doing a reef tank, which I suspect since you're buying liverock, you'll need specific lighting.

The powerhead sits in the top of one of the tubes that attaches to your undergravel filter plate. Any pet store will have UG filters and powerheads, and I've even seen them in Wal-Mart.

Airstone is up to you. I like the extra bubbles so I always use them.

From your list you wont need a skimmer or an underground filter..I would replace the crushed coral with sand,,some arrogate and live would be best.. Crushed coral can cause nitrate spikes later if not regularly cleaned.Sand is easier to care for plus you can get gobys and other sand sifters to clean your sand.
You don't need an air stone.I would just buy a power head or two and place them on the sides of your tank blowing toward each other..I have three power heads in my 135 gallon.
