Of course the answer is obvious. But my problem is that I have applied for the post of Assistant Treasurer of a the students astronomical society. And now I have to face an interview and also make a speech based on 'why i think im the best for this position'.

As im an engineering student i dont have much expericence in accountings either.
Please tell me what are the important things i need to mention?

thank you so much

Draw on the strengths usually attributed to "engineers": analytical, good with numbers, organized, logical, careful. Those same traits are needed in a Treasurer or Asst Treasurer. Then talk about your love for the club and for the study of astronomy.

the best way is to ask them for a job description first and then ask them WHY they think they need an assistant treasurer. The best person to ask would be the Treasurer himself.

you cannot please someone if you do not know what they want and need. What they want is not necessarily what they need. If you can give them what they want and find out what they NEED, and you know you can solve this problem for them, you have a good chance of getting the job.
